I was born May 27, 1920 on 21 20 4 W3. When I was two and a half years old, I got lost for a couple of days. Thanks to the people of Central Butte district, I was found well and happy to see someone. I went to Hayfield school for a few years. Then we moved and I went to Menzies School until moving north to Beacon Hill where I have been living since. Dad, Gordon Stacey, came north in the spring of 1934. Mom, Mary Stacey, my sisters, brothers and I came north by covered wagon. We left Central Butte on Jul first and arrived in Beacon Hill on July twenty-first. Kenneth, Melvin, Ronny, Bluebell and I live in the Beacon Hill district and nearby. Clayton, Francis, Joyce and Joan have left for Alberta and British Columbia. Oakley passed away. Mom and Dad moved to Claresholm, Alta in the fall of 1974. Dad passed away May 1975; Mom passed away July 1983. My husband, Peter Brovchenko, passed away in April 1968. We had six children: Kenny, Iris, Elaine, Beatrice, Lavern and Glenn. Kenny died in 1980. Iris and her husband, Des Westgate, raise Arabian horses at Westgate Arabians, in Winfield, BC. They have a son and a daughter. Elaine and Melvin Haase live on a farm near Grand Centre, Alberta and he works for Alberta Gas. He also runs pro chuck wagons. They have two sons. Beatrice and Craig Campbell live on a farm at Elk Point, Alberta. He also works for an oil company. They have a daughter and two sons. Lavern and Allan Ell live on an acreage near Grand Centre, Alta. They have a son and daughter. Allan works for Esso Oil near Cold Lake and Grand Centre. He had been in the air force. Lavern teaches at Grand Centre. Glenn and his wife, Heather, live in Elk Point. He works for Dome Oil and Heather works at a motel. They have one daughter and two sons.
