Mr. Williamson said he advised Mr. Adams not to go to the Carter home because he might still be angry. When he arrived at the house with the cafe operator, he urged him again not to go inside. He said he heard the shot fired, and later ran back of the house to avoid being hit by what he feared might be further shots. The shotgun charge hit Adams in the chest and stomach killing him almost instantly. He was dead by the time a Laughlin-Service funeral home ambulance arrived at the scene. Funeral services were held at the Charity Baptist church at 4 o'clock this afternoon with the Rev. Gilbert Willingham officiating. Burial followed in the nearby Charity cemetery with the Laughlin-Service funeral home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Belle Adams; two sons, Richard and Charles Adams; two daughters, Joan and Nancy Adams; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Adams, Route 4, Huntsville. Seven brothers, W. C., Route 4, Huntsville; Joe of Huntsville; Cliff of Decatur; Willie R. of Birmingham; Shelvie, Route 4, Huntsville; L. T. Jr., Detroit; and D. Adams, of Route 4, Huntsville; and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Alverson, Camp Campbell, Ky., Mrs. Robert Raines, Camp Campbell, Ky., and Mrs. James Campbell, Huntsville. Pallbearers were T. O.
