Samuel B. Rhines, 89, died at 12:35 a.m. Friday at Perry Nursing Home, where he was a resident.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parker Funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Kirby officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery.
Rhines was born March 31, 1886 in Kansas. He had lived in Perry since 1908. He was married at Shaw, Kansas, Sept 11, 1908, to the former Susy Berger , who preceded him in death in 1970. Rhines was a cable took driller until his retirement in 1950. He had been in ill health since 1970. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Beryl (Sammy) Spradlin, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs. Myree Stephens, Perry; a son Clyde Rhines, Perry; and nine grandchildren.
