Oscar Hollandsworth

Oscar "Gator" O'Brien Hollandsworth, 58, of 103 Randolph St., Martinsville, died Thursday, April 18, 1996 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County after a lengthy illness.

A native of Franklin County, he was born Nov. 8, 1937, a son of the late James A. Hollandsworth and the late Lillie Spencer Hollandsworth. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Hollandsworth.

He had worked at Pulaski Furniture Corp. for 20 years, and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Coleman Hollandsworth of the home, two sons, Allen and Randy Hollandsworth; five sisters, Ruby H. Adkins of Bassett, Doris H. Cannaday of Fieldale, Nora H. Wolfe of Lake, Miss., Virgie H. Amos and Jean H. Cassell, both of Martinsville; and five brothers, Ledford Wayne Hollandsworth of Henry, Herndon Hollandsworth of Chilhowie, Joseph Hollandsworth of Stuart, Carl Hollandsworth of Chula Vista, Calif., and Louis Hollandsworth of the Oak Level Community of Bassett.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Collins Funeral Chapel, Bassett. The Rev Joe Hall and Doug Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Adkins or at 103 Randolph St., Martinsville.
