Carlisle Shafer, 59, of Thomas St. died unexpectantly Tuesday at his home. Born in Mountaintop, PA, he had lived here 28 years and was an employee of the American Cyanamid Company, Bridgewater. A member of the Finderne Reformed Church, he held membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2137, of Somerville and Manville Elks Lodge 2119, both of which will hold services at the funeral home this evening. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Blahut Shafer; a son Kenneth Shafer; two grandchildren; his parents Mr.& Mrs. Frank Shafer of Zarephath; a brother, Olin Shafer in Virginia, and two sisters, Mrs. Zella Shafer Silett and Mrs. Irel Shafer Truitt both of Zarephath. Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Taggart-Chamberlain Funeral Home. Interment will be in Bound Brook Cemetery.
