Mr. A.V. McNutt, 89, of Mount Calm, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Wade Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Mount Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A.V. was born in Moulton, Alabama, to the late Dennis and Mary (Chasteen) McNutt. His family moved to Texas when he was five years old and he attended schools at Brushie Prairie in Navarro County. A.V. had lived in Mount Calm since 1972 and worked for over 30 years as a line driver for Central Freight Lines in Waco. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Calm and was a Mason for over 56 years in Waco Lodge #92, but also attended lodge meetings in Hubbard and Prairie Hill. A.V. served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post # 440 in Waco.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward McNutt; and sister, Rita McNutt Shankle.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 64 years, Ardis (Roberts) McNutt, of Mount Calm; sons, Dennis McNutt and his wife, Robin, of Georgetown, and Vince McNutt and his wife, Linda, of Mount Calm; grandchildren, Amy Morrissey and her husband, Eric, of Jersey Village, Susan Shofkon and her husband, Robert, of Richmond, Michael McNutt and his wife, Julia, of Austin, Melissa McNutt, of Auburn, Alabama, and Rachel McNutt, of Hartford, Connecticut; great-grandchildren, Erin Morrissey, Collin Morrissey, Reagan Morrissey, and Summer Morrissey, all of Jersey Village, Caroline McNutt, of Austin, and Isabel Shofkon, of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family member and friends.
