Schuler, Joseph (March 3, 1876-Nov. 4, 1954 –husband of Caroline Hecker [married June 10, 1902 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Mathias Schuler and Veronica Meyer –born Town of Eaton –farmer in Town of Eaton –in the 1900 census for the Town of Eaton, Joseph is shown living with his brother Gottfried on the farm at 5816 Greendale Road in Section 14, Town of Eaton –on April 1, 1902 purchased from his future in-laws Joseph and Maria Hecker the 80 acre farm at 9517 Greendale Road in Section 36, Town of Eaton –owned this farm until selling to his son Theodore Schuler on Dec. 20, 1940 –from 1943 until his death in 1954 rented the farmhouse at 9604 Greendale Road in Section 35, Town of Eaton –this farmhouse was owned by his son Theodore Schuler –died from “coronary sclerosis –myocarditis”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 4, Lot 17] [marriage record Manitowoc 7-217] [death record Manitowoc 48-137]

Joseph Schuler, 78, St. Nazianz, died Thursday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan. He was born in St. Nazianz on March 3, 1876. He was married June 10m 1902, to Miss Caroline Hecker, and the couple celebrated their golden wedding June 8, 1952. They lived all of their married life on a farm three miles south of St. Nazianz. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and a life-long member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, five daughters, Hildegard Salm of Cleveland; Mrs. Isadore (Lorena) Meyer of Osman; Mrs. Ray (Alexia) Woelfel of Jericho; Mrs. Clarence (Rose) Bogenschuetz of Sheboygan, Route 3; and Mrs. Elmer (Marie) Gries of Osman; and four sons, Alfonse and Antone of Valders; Raymond of Mischicot and Theodore of Kiel; 52 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the church Monday by the Rev. Fredrick Dorn with burial in the church cemetery.
