Schuler, Theodore Joseph (Ted) (Sept. 24, 1915-Oct. 17, 1992 –husband of Louise Basler [married May 24, 1941 at St. Fridolin Catholic Church in Glenbeulah, Sheboygan County] –son of Joseph Schuler and Caroline Hecker –born Town of Eaton –farmer and a salesman for Virortone Feed and a rural insurance agent –a Town of Eaton assessor and a member of the Manitowoc County Board –a charter member of Lake to Lake Co-op –on Dec. 20, 1940 purchased from his parents the farm at 9517 Greendale Road in Section 36, Town of Eaton –on Aug. 31, 1945 purchased the 100 acre farm at 9604 Greendale Road in Section 35, Town of Eaton from Max and Louisa Rauch –this farm was directly across the road from his farm at 9517 Greendale Road –Theodore then rented the farmhouse for the farm at 9604 Greendale Road to his parents –Theodore owned these farms until selling to his sons Dale and Roy Schuler on Nov. 12, 1974 –died from “probable cardiac arrhythmia –arteriosclerotic heart disease”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 5, Row 9, Lot 3] [marriage record Sheboygan 33-476] [death record Manitowoc 96-527]

THEODORE JOSEPH SCHULER

Theodore (Ted) Joseph Schuler, age 77, of rural Kiel, passed away Saturday evening, October 17, 1992 at Manitowoc Health Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Mass will be at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Father Leonard Walker will officiate with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery.

He was born September 24, 1915, in the town of Eaton, son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Carrie) Hecker Schuler. He attended St. Gregory Schools and was a graduate of St. Nazianz Business College. He farmed in the town of Eaton and was formerly a salesman of Vigortone Feed and a rural insurance agent. He was also the former Town of Eaton Assessor and a past member of the Manitowoc County Board.

He married Louise Basler May 24, 1941 at Glenbeulah. He was a lifelong member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and Holy Name Society and past president of St. Gregory High School PTO. He was also a member of the Steering Committee, and a charter member of Lake to Lake Co-op, and a past delegate, a charter member, past president and secretary of the St. Nazianz Lions Club, a member of the Holstein Freisian Association, and past County President, a member of the Valders Co-op, and a member of St. Isadore Catholic Rural Life.

Survivors include his wife, Louise. He was the father of four sons and one daughter; Dale and Betty, rural Kiel, Roger, who preceded him in death in 1984, Roy and Sharon, rural Kiel, Duane and Mary, rural Kiel, Diane and James Lutz, Denmark. He is further survived by one brother, Alphonse and Margaret, Valders; fourteen grandchildren, one great granddaughter; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Nellie Schuler, Manitowoc, Wilfred and Dorothy Basler, Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Anton and Ray; five sisters, Hildegarde Salm, Lorena Meyer Woelfel, Alexia Woelfel, Rose Bogenschutz and Marie Gries.
