Frank George Hartnell was born 17 Jun 1856 in Brighton Township, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin, the son of John and Eliza (nee Kerley) Hartnell Jr. He owned 400 acres of mostly farm land in Sections 34 and 35, Brighton Township. He always interested in public affairs and served one term as Chairman of the Brighton Township Board. He married Claire Amelia Burgess in 1882. They had nine children:
