Viola Katherine Kinghorn, 86, Wilber, NE, died March 28, 1998, at the Wilber Care Center.

She was born December 12, 1911, the daughter of Henry and Mary Sowder Boydston, on a farm near Axtell, KS.

She was married to George Kinghorn on September 27, 1932, in Seneca, KS. He died in 1982.

They lived on various farms around Pawnee City, NE, moving to Beatrice, NE, in 1942. She worked at Dempster's during World War II, moving to DeWitt, NE, in 1954. She moved to Wilber in 1988.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in DeWitt, NE.

Survivors include son, Raymond Kinghorn, DeWitt, NE; sisters, Delphia Hinton, Hiawatha, KS; Sarah Eggelston, Cheyenne, WY; Dorothy Buttner, Sabetha, KS; Grace Billings, Humboldt, NE; Ruby Watkins, Sabetha, KS; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Juanita Nicholson; brothers, J.H. Boydston; Estell Boydston; Everett Boydston; sisters Tamsy Eggelston; and Juanita Henninger.

Funeral services were held March 31, 1998, at the United Methodist Church, DeWitt, NE. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
