Lawrence "Whitey" Hayn of St. Louis, formerly of Philo, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 27, 2012).

He was born May 24, 1940 in Pilot Township, the son of Herman and Anna Schluter Hayn. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. He married Mary Keller on July 1, 1960 in Gifford. She survives.

He is also survived by a son, Mike (Paula) Hayn; a daughter, Lisa (Ed) Cantwell; three grandchildren, Jack Cantwell, Meghan Cantwell and Devan Hayn; brothers, Melvin Hayn and Gene Hayn and sister-in-law, Helen (Raymond) Hayn.
