SUMMITVILLE-Donald Max Carpenter, 81 passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, in Community Hospital, Anderson. He was born Aug. 29, 1927, to the late Loren E. and Vera May (Hiner) Carpenter. He married his wife, of 47 years, Betty (Thompson) Carpenter, she preceded him in death. Services were held at 11 am Friday, Jan 9, 2009 in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville with Pastor Nathan Lutterman, First Christian Church, Summitville officiating. Interment will be in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville where mikitary honors will be given by Elwood VFW-Post 5782 Honors Team.
