Services for Mrs. Stella Lister were conducted Saturday, 2 p.m., in the Assembly of God church, with Rev. Lynn Beeson, pastor, officiating assisted by Rev. Carl H. Shelton, Methodist pastor.
Burial was in Red Hill cemetery.
Stella Jones Lister was born February 1, 1880 at Montague, Texas, and departed this life January 17, 1957 in Elk City, at the age of 76 years 11 months and 17 days.
Mrs. Lister suffered a stroke on Tuesday evening, January 15, at her home in Hammon.
At the age of 14 years she moved with her grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Morrow, to the Indian(sic) Territory, near Shawnee.
She was married to Mose Daniel Lister, January 13, 1901 in Shawnee. To this union were born six children.
Mrs. Lister had lived in Oklahoma since 1894, with the exception of four or five years, during which time she lived at Villa Green, Colo.
She resided in Union Center, Moorewood and Leedey communities, prior to moving with her family to Hammon in 1939, where she had resided since.
Mrs. Lister was a member of the Hammon Assembly of God church. She was converted at an early age, and always lived a consecrated Christian life.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Doshia Allen, Colgate, Okla.; five sons, Roscoe, Borger, Texas; Bob, Sacramento, Calif.; Hubie and Herbie (twins), Borger, Texas, and Winfred, Hammon, Okla.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great great grand-children; three nieces, and one nephew; other relatives and many friends, who will greatly miss her.
Mrs. Lister was preceded in death by Mr. Lister on January 20, 1953; a brother, Bob Thomas, June 11, 1948, and a sister, Ellen Thomas, in 1908.
