Mr. Amos C. Green, 80, of Chatsworth passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his residence.

He was a member of Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Army, having served two tours of the Vietnam Conflict. While serving in the Army, Amos was awarded two Bronze Star medals, three Air medals, and an Expert Marksman medal. Amos retired from the Murray County School System after serving 20 years as a math teacher at Murray County High School.

Amos was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Teresa Green; his parents, Clyde and Pearl Goforth Green; a daughter, Mona Fay Green; brothers, Alton and Rabon Green; sisters, Maggie McHan and June Ballew.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lisa Green of Suwanee, GA, Mark and Linda Green of Topeka, KS; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tom Heaslip of Cambridge, Ontario; grandchildren, Jaryd Green, Preston Green, Andrew Green, Sawyer Green, Ryan Heaslip, Connor Heaslip, Austin Heaslip, Cameron Green, and Nikki Heaslip; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Rebel Green of Cleveland, TN; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Amos Green will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ed Smith and Ralph Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Harrison Chapel Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 16th, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Monday, June 17th, from 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.
