Albert (Bert) Nelson Phillips, 85 of Jefferson, RD 1, died Saturday, Febuary 3, 1968 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born May 26, 1882 at was is now called Crucible, a son of James Newton and Anna Crago Phillips. his first wife, Mary Ridge Phillips died in 1913. His second wife, Cora McCloy Phillips survives. Mr. Phillips was an outstanding dairy farmer and huckster. He had lived for many years at Carmichaels where he owned a large farm. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church at Carmichaels. Surviving in addition to his wife, Cora Phillips, are one son, James J Phillips of Carmichaels; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth P Gilson of Washington; Mrs. Helen J Gontz of Canonsburg; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Henry McCann of Carmichaels; three brothers, Robert J of Carmichaels; Nathan of Carmichaels, and Wayne W of Gormania, W VA.
Friends of Albert (Bert) Nelson Phillips, 85 of Jefferson, who died Saturday, Feb 3, 1968, are being received in the Lucas and Behm Funeral Home, Jefferson, until 11:30 am Tuesday when the body will be removed to the Hewitt Presbyterian Church at Rice Landing. Services will be held in charge of Rev John R Congalton and Rev Robert L Whoolery.
Burial in Hewitt Cemetery.
