Nita Nadine Alvord GOTHENBURG — Nita Nadine Alvord, 70, of Gothenburg died Dec. 10, 2003, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born June 30, 1933, at Stockville to Wayne and Faye Merrit Claflin. She had several occupations. Her favorite was being owner of Nita's Café in Gothenburg. She also was a security guard, including 10 years at IBP in Lexington. Survivors include her mother of Farnam; a daughter, Cathy (Roger) Kennicutt of Gothenburg; three sons, Steven (Karen) Walker of Gothenburg, Dallas (Renee) White of North Platte, Monty (Cindy) White of Gothenburg; three sisters, Marilyn (Chuck) Cuttel of Wisconsin, Ruth Raney of Tennessee, Cindy (Ronnie) Sabin of McCook; two brothers, Edward (Shirley) Claflin of Gothenburg, Mike (Deb) Claflin of Sumner; 12 grandchildren, Jamey (Claudine) Kennicutt of Gothenburg, Jessica and Justina Kennicutt of Omaha, Stephanie Walker Alvarez of San Diego, Calif., Mindy (Justin) Lewis of Gothenburg, Taylor Walker of Gothenburg, and Laci Lutjemeyer of Tennessee, Lee White and Megan White of North Platte, Jake (Jakeh) White of Gothenburg, Jessie and Chase White of Gothenburg; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie, Jocelyn, Marley Kennicutt, Jordan and Carson Lewis and Allyson White and Paige; and a special friend, Dallas E. White of North Platte. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Donna Craig; and great-grandson, Drew Kennicutt. A memorial has been established. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Gothenburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sharee Johnson officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a different date. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte is in charge.
