They boarded at the adjacent Northern Home for Friendless Children at 23rd & Brown Streets. Son Earnest P stayed there for seven years until he turned 16. Daughter Louisa stayed there longer.
Daughter Louisa married Francis B Koons in 1888. In 1900, Catharine Lee lived with her daughter Louisa's growing family in the same section of Philadelphia. By 1910, the extended family moved to 6013 Baynton Street in Germantown, and were still there in 1920.
