David Allen McClain passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1961 to Hazel (Johnston) and John McClain in Marinette, Wis.

David was a 1979 graduate of Peshtigo High School. He proudly served in the National Guard for 13 years and was active duty stationed in Germany.
David was a skilled mechanic and was currently employed as a Tow Truck Operator with Ultimate Towing of Menominee, Mich.
David was extremely devoted to his family. He was blessed with a large, loving family and was a man who accepted anyone as his own and watched out for everyone. David enjoyed life spending time camping with his wife and family. He was a gifted carpenter and took pride in his work.

David is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cassandra (Cypert) McClain. David and Cassandra were married January 15, 2004 and spent 17 years sharing an unconditional love for each other and their families:
his children, Kevin Polen, Adam Berry, Miranda McClain, Breanna (Derick) Johnson, Jared Barber and Cassie McClain (Lundy Basinski).
In addition, David is survived by his greatest joys, his grandchildren: McKenzie, Austin, Tylar, Blaise, Aubree and Berkley;
also his faithful companions: Max and Teddy.
David is also survived by his five brothers: John (Joan) McClain, Edward (Kathy) McClain, Paul (Rhonda) McClain, Louis (Sherry) McClain and Alvin (Kim) McClain;
and five sisters: Hazel (Rod) Cloutier, Shirley Brown, Susan Miller, Sandra (Carl) Marotz and Mary (Sam) Mitchell;
as well as many deeply loved nieces and nephews.
David also shared a great friendship with his co-worker, Willie Gilbert.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and John McClain; sister-in-law, Paula McClain; brothers-in-law: Thomas Mitchell, Robert Brown, Earl Glover, Wilfred "Butch" Cloutier, Vernon Miller and nephews: Billy McClain, Danny Brown and Eric Glover.

Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 4 until 8 p.m. A service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, led by a nephew, Aaron McClain.
Burial will be in Peshtigo Riverside Cemetery with family members and friends. Jared Barber, Al McClain, Louis McClain, Willie Gilbert, Kevin Polen and Derick Johnson serving as pallbearers.
