KILLED IN SHAFT
Andrew Bavolar Crushed Under Rock at Heenanville.
Andrew Bavolar of Heenanville was killed in the shaft at that place between 8 and 9 o'clock last night, being caught under a fall of rock.
Bavolar and his "buddy" Louis Macac, were driving an entry and his friend had a close call from meeting the same fate as that of his partner. The rock struck, him a glancing blow on onelage and the current of air created by the rock's fall snuffed out the light on Masac's pit lamp.
The rock struck Bavolar on the breast, crushing him so severley that he died instantly.
The decedent was about 38 years old and leaves a wife and six children. The eldest child is about 13 years old and youngest 1 year.
The dead man is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bavolar, of Heenanville, and by several sisters and brothers.
Deputy Coroner Smith conducted an inquest on the body today.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the Slavish Catholic church in this city and interment in the Slavish Catholic cemetery. The St. Nicholas Society, of which Mr. Bavolar was a member, have charge of the final arrangements. The decedent also belonged to the U. M. W. of A.

According to baptism record in Slovakia, he was born in House #48 in Samos, Slovakia on 9 April 1864.
