Colonial American Figure. She is recognized as one of the 132 passengers and crew on the ship "Mayflower," which sailed from England to the New World in 1620. These settlers were seeking religious freedom from the Church of England as they were Pilgrims. Born the daughter of Stephan Hopkins and his first wife, Mary, she was age fourteen on the ten-week journey across the Atlantic Ocean. In May of 1627, she married Nicholas Snow, who served as the first Clerk of Eastham from 1646 to 1662. The couple had nine children.
