Dorothy Marie Armacost, 68, of Westmoreland Street in Westminster, formerly of Armacost Avenue in Finksburg, died Wednesday morning at Westminster Nursing and Convalescent Center after a brief illness. Born in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Carrie Simms Tinkler, and mother of the late Sterling D. Evans Jr. Her first husband was the late Sterling D. Evans Sr. and her second husband, John Willard Armacost, died in 1981.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and the Christian Woman's Society at the church.

She is survived by daughter Linda Martin of Hampstead; son John D. Evans of Dover, Del.; sisters Elizabeth Schlerf and Helen Woyick of Westminster and Alice Herbst of Hampstead; brothers John E. Tinkler Jr. of Reisterstown, Gordon and David Tinkler of Baltimore, Ralph Tinkler of Florida and Carroll Tinkler of Finksburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
