Lavena Ammons
Lavena (Buzz) Ammons, 78, of Cassville, died Friday, Jan. 5, 1990, at her home.
She was born March 25, 1911, in Steyer, Maryland., a daughter of the late Albert Whetsell and Lenora Iman Whetsell Ullery.
She was retired from Grey's Drug Store and was a member of Cassville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Donald R. Ammons of Cassville; one brother, James Whetsell of Deer Park, MD; three sisters, Mrs. Nick (Merle) Luzier of Sanford, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Nina) Boyers of Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs. John (Ruby) Renner of Granville; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Eugene Ammons and by five brothers, Arley, Delford and Victor Whetsell, Frank and Lee Ullery.
Friends may call at William McCulla Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Stacey Groscup officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family with interment at Olive Cemetery in Pentress.
