We have lost our darling mother,
And our loss we deeply feel;
Let us put our trust in Jesus
He will all our sorrows heal.
Oh: our dear one how we loved her,
'Twas so hard to give her up,
But an angel came down for her,
And removed her from our flock.
Through all pain at times she smiled,
A smile of heavenly Birth,
And when an angel called her home
She smiled farewell to earth.
Heaven retaineth now our treasure
Earth the lonely casket keeps,
And the sunbeams loves to linger
Where our dearest mother sleeps.
