Antoinette was the fourth of 13 children born to Peter C and Catherine (Meier) Schmitt - SCHMIDT. Peter changed his spelling from "tt" to "dt".

'Ann' married Clyde Brown on February 7, 1948 at St John's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis (Hennepin), MN. They had 3 children: Ronald Gary, Denise Cora, and Lauri Catherine.
