Mrs. MUSETTE JEAN BROWN, 86, of Hagerstown died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Homewood at Williamsport. She was the wife of the late Robert Preston Brown Jr., who preceded her in death Nov. 17, 2000. Born Aug. 22, 1927, in Cedar Grove, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Bittle Oscar and Nellie Estelle Hanson Linkous.

She graduated from East Bank (W.Va.) High School. Mrs. Brown was a beautician at Valenca Beauty Salon. She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene, where she taught the toddler Sunday school class for 30 years.

Surviving are her son, Dewayne R. Brown, Hagerstown; grandchildren, Daryl D. Brown, Smithsburg, and Diane L. Sweeney, Hagerstown; four great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Susie Coburn, Goose Creek, S.C., Robert Linkous, Charleston, W.Va., and Rufus Linkous, Wilmington, N.C.

Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by siblings, Venita Hancock and Charles and Patrick Linkous.

Funeral services were held at Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene; interment followed in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown; arrangements were handled by the Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
