RITES HELD TODAY FOR MRS. ASHLEY
Newnan Woman Had Been In Declining Health For Some Time
Funeral services were to be held this morning at ten o'clock from the graveside in Oak Hill cemetery for Mrs. J. B. Ashley well known Newnan woman who died Wednesday night at 11:30 at her home here. She was 79 years of age. Dr. L. Wilkie Collins will officiate.
Although in declining health for some time, she had been ill only five weeks before her death. A native of Heard county, she had spent the greater part of her earlier life in south Georgia, and had moved to Newnan some 30 years ago. She was a devout member of the First Methodist Church, and took an active part in is [sic] activities until ill health intervened.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. L. Wright and Mrs. J. E. McWaters of Newnan; a foster son, Claude Bullington, of Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. D. E. Bond of Hogansville, and eight grandchildren.
J. U. McKoon and Son were in charge of arrangements.
