Norma Bowen (nee Mentz), age 87, of Washington passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Washington. She was born on September 9, 1926 in St. Louis to the late William and the late Emma (nee Brunker) Mentz. She married the late Thomas L. Bowen on November 16, 1946 at the Holy Family Parish in Port Hudson.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas and wife Jackie of Dallas, Texas, Michael of Washington, and David of Union; six daughters, Dr. Mary Kathryn Bowen of Kennett, Missouri, Patricia Strubberg of Washington, Linda and husband Gary Abpullah of St. Peters, Juddi Schneider of Washington, Nancy Bowen of Washington, and Barbara and husband Mark King of Washington; one brother, William and wife Marilyn Mentz of Leslie; two sisters, Laverne Schmitt of Union and Joyce Mentz of Washington; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Lisa Marie Bowen; one brother, Joe Mentz; two sons in law, Bob Strubberg and Al Schneider.
