Amon Medes Moore, 66, of 400 Tindal Rd, Greenville, husband of Colleen Taylor Moore, died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday at a local hospital. A lifelong resident of Greenville, he was born January 15, 1919, and was a son of the late Melvin and Mary B. Moore. He had lived for the past thirty-five years on Tindal Road and was a retired employee of General Electric Company. Mr. Moore was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Auditorium Bible Class. He was also an usher and served on the Finance Committee. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. Surviving also are a daughter, Mrs. Michael S. Jenkins (Brenda) of Greenville; four brothers, J.P., Carl E., Cretz S. Moore all of Greenville and Floyd Moore of Greenville and Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Carl Riddle (Annie) of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Tami and Danny Jenkins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church by Dr. Harold B. Sightler, Rev. Jerry Clark and Rev. Ralph Horne. Interment will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. On Saturday the body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.
