Mrs. Edward P. Moakler, 60, of 1121 Flambeau St., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry Letz will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Moakler, nee Lila Schweitzer, was born Jan. 2, 1895, at Manitowoc, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Schweitzer. A lifetime resident of the city, she
was married Sept. 9, 1919, to Edward P. Moakler. She was a member of the Auxiliary
of the Drews-Bleser Legion post.
Surviving are the husband, three daughters, Mrs. William Mertz, Mrs. John Koehler
and Mrs. Daniel Kolodzeske of Manitowoc; a son, Edward J. Moakler of Iron River,
Mich.; a brother, Reuben Schweitzer of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Spencer,
Mrs. Henry Maass and Miss Margaret Schweitzer of Milwaukee and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will
be recited at 7:45 Tuesday by the Knights of Columbus and members of the parish.
