Robert Rex Gartin, 67 of Kearney, Arizona, a former resident of Lucas County (Iowa) passed away Sunday, September 19, 1965, at the Boyd Nursing Home where he had been a patient for two weeks. He died of lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Alice and two children from a former marriage [to Harriet Hyde]: a daughter LaDonna Kay Gartin of Des Moines and a son, Bobbie, of Ogden, Utah.
Also survived by four brothers: Dewey, John and Harley of Chariton, and Archie of Bakersfield, CA, three sisters: Mrs. Andy Morrett (Peco) and Mrs. Katie Campbell of Chariton and Mrs. Lillian Remster of Chugwater, Wyoming, several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Gartin, and one brother, Charlie.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 21, at Hutchinson Funeral Home at Humeston with burial at Humeston cemetery.
