Dorothy E. Cook, longtime Fort Benton resident, died August 23, 1986 at Glacier County Medical Center in Cut Bank following an extended illness.

Dorothy Cook was born April 5, 1921 in Montague to Charley and Inez Falls. Graduating in 1939 from Geraldine High School and in 1940 from Great Falls Commercial College, she married Ira R. Cook March 15, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Fort Benton. They farmed near Geraldine until her husband's death in 1958. Mrs. Cook worked for Mountain Bell in Fort Benton and Great Falls from 1958 until her retirement in 1983.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fort Benton, the Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W., Rebekah Lodge No. 105, Fort Benton and Great Falls Telephone Pioneer Club.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Howard Cook and by her sister Mrs. Tom (Aldean) Hardy as well as her husband and her parents. Survivors include a son Gerald L. Cook of Seattle, Washington; a daughter Mrs. John M. (Linda) Reynolds of Cut Bank, Montana; and five grandchildren, Jeff and Kelly Cook; and Jill, Erin and John Reynolds.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 27 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Fort Benton with the Reverend W. Lloyd Hanley of Motley, Minnesota, officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton.
