Born in Logansport on July 12, 1946
On December 29, 1974, in Logansport, he was married to Susan Winquist, who survives, in Logansport.
Ron retired in 2001 as the assistant superintendent of France Park, after 25 years of service. He then was employed at Sears for seven years, until his retirement in 2009.
He was a United States Army veteran, having served during Vietnam.
Ron enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the former Logansport Bass Hustlers. He also enjoyed playing pool, and was a member of various pool leagues, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are daughter, Linda (Jason) Bird, Logansport; daughter-in-law, Wendi Stacy, Texas; grandchildren, Dawson and Kyla Bird, Logansport, Brooke (Jamin) Stevenson and Bryson Stacy, all of Texas; great grandchildren, Riley and Peyton Stevenson, Texas; sisters, Phyllis (Wallace) Dibble and Juanita (Paul) Hurd, all of Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were a son, Donald E. Gaddis; granddaughter, Jessica Dawn Gaddis, brothers, Lester L. Gaddis, Glenn D. Gaddis, Jr., and Clarence E. Gaddis; sisters, Helen M. Gaddis Klueter and Barbara J. Gaddis Campbell.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 20, 2014, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., at Kroeger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, with Jeff Strite officiating. Full military honors will be accorded following the service.
Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery will be private.
