William had worked as a letter carrier for 35 years at the Evansville Post Office,and the National Safety council recently gave an award to him for driving a million miles without an accident.

He was a Past Master (1983) of Reed Masonic Lodge # 316, a Past Worthy Patron of Robert Morris Chapter No. 87 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Past Captain of the Color Guard of the Hadi Shrine Temple.

The Korean War Veteran was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1114 and was active in the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Department.

He and his wife Joy were married 37 years.
