Under no circumstances do we link to burial unknown, link to duplicates, or allow our photos to be added to duplicates.

Transfers are generally per Find A Grave guidelines. There are always exceptions within reason. No mass transfers.

Please use the edit function on the memorials, for links, dates etc. Edits/requests on the message board will be ignored.

I borrowed this from another member, and I could not have stated it better. " The first memorial created in the correct cemetery (NOT as a burial unknown memorial) is the permanent memorial. Date of creation is not considered when comparing a memorial created correctly, in a verified cemetery, and one created as "burial unknown.

**When notified FAG will always remove/merge a burial unknown moved into a cemetery where a grave has been verified. "

Military rank , when to use.... The answer is that one who doesn't retire doesn't continue to use the rank as part of their name. Use of rank as part of one's name is reserved for those who serve until retirement.

Would you consider moving your photo from this memorial to Find A Grave Memorial# 25859208, please?
Your photo is on a duplicate, which likely arose due to misreading the year of death on the headstone as taken by Sara.
Regards, Richard

John Greenman (clarification)
(The edit would be in the form of a bio entry, natch, since Elizabeth's burial is unknown.)

John Greenman
Via NEHGS -- Torrey's "New England Marriages" shows a marriage between "Greenman, John (1666-1727) & Elizabeth ____; ca 1690; Newport {Stonington Hist. 405; Austinís Dict. 309}. That "Elizabeth" was the daughter of my 8th great-grandfather, William Dyer (II), and his second wife, Catherine [maiden surname not known]; William and his first wife, the Quaker martyr Mary Dyer, were among the first settlers of Newport. Since the name and dates perfectly match those of John Greenman #123095131, and the burial is in Newport, I'm rather certain that this is the same gentleman. (Elizabeth Dyer Greenman's burial site is not known.) I can make that edit but would not want to do so without your concurrence.
