The daughter of Andrew Jackson Miller and Elizabeth (Flynn) Miller, Embly.

She lived her life at Highfield and died at home as did her husband, located on the Corner of Warren Ave. and Harbaugh Rd. Highfield, Washington County, MD. She was baptised Lutheran by Rev. John Heck, Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pa., on August 15, 1856, with her brother and sisters.

Children: Elizabeth D.(Lizzie) Smith, married Charles H. McClain; Minnie May Smith, married Jacob Beetim Martin; Amanda Marie Smith, married Charles "Herbert" McGlaughlin; Florence Smith, first married Merle L. Eyler, marriage ended in divorce, married William Ira Arnsparger; Walter H. Smith, died in childhood; and Helen Grace Smith, married Russell Alvey Brown, marriage ended in divorce.

Mrs. Nancy Smith

Mrs. Nancy Savilla Smith, aged 87, widow of Lewis Calvin Smith, died at 6:07 p.m. Sunday at her home at Highfield.
She had been in failing health for the last two years and was critically ill since May 11. Death was due to infirmities of age.

Mrs. Smith was born at Blue Ridge Summit, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Flynn) Miller and lived her entire life in the Blue Ridge Summit and Highfield section, except for 13 years when she lived in Fairfield. For the last 38 years she lived at Highfield.

Her husband died 31 years ago.

She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sisters Amanda Catharine Miller, Ann Maria Miller and brother John Calvin Miller.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Florence Arnsparger, Hagerstown;; Mrs. Jacob Martin, Shippensburg, and Mrs. Russel Brown, Cascade; 20 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchilsdren and four great-great- grandchildren; a half sister, Mrs Mary Davis, Hagerstown. She was the last of a family of six children.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Church of God, in charge of the Rev. F.P. Brose. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Grove funeral home from 7 ubtil 9 p.m. Tuesday.
