GEORGE C. PHILIPP

George C. Philipp, 89, of 908 Jefferson Ave., a former Town of Meeme farmer, died Saturday at St. Nicholas Hospital.
He was born June 27, 1885 in the Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, a son of the late Peter and Dorothy Heinke Philipp. He attended district school.
Mr. Philipp operated a truck farm and raised chickens in the Town of Meeme.
He moved to Sheboygan three years ago.
Mr. Philipp, the last surviving member of the Peter Philipp family, never married.
While living in Sheboygan he was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
Only survivors are nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman, where he was a former member. The Rev. Francis Rose, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass which will follow brief rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, at 9;15 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Town of Meeme.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today and until the time of services on Tuesday.
A service of the wake will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
