Michael Wade Williams, 32, of Rocky Point, formerly of Moore County, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, in Pender County.

Born on May 27, 1977, in Cumberland County, to Deborah Holland Williams and the late Stoney Williams. Michael was a former columnist and reporter for the Moore County Independent newspaper, where he featured a column called, "Fishin' With Mike." He enjoyed all sports and was an avid fisherman. The biggest passion to him was spending time with his precious daughter, Brylee, whom he adored. He previously taught a youth group and enjoyed working with children.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving daughter, Brylee Marie Williams. He is also survived by three sisters,Terreasa Williams Farmer and husband, Laymon, of Rockingham, Heather Williams Waitley, of Currie, and Elizabeth Reynolds Germain, of Rocky Point; and his grandmother, Lillian Pennington, of Wilmington. He is also survived by the mother of his daughter, Marinda Rogers, of Cameron; one aunt, Pam Nunnery, of Vass; two uncles, Roy Holland, of Burgaw, and Tommy Williams, of Hope Mills; three nephews, Trenton Don Waitley, Stoney Benjamin Germain and Benjamin Michael Germain.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 21, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines at 6 p.m. with Dr. Laymon Farmer officiating.
