Obituary of Bro J. G. McBride from the Church Book of the Baptist Church of Christ in Brown Co., TX

J. G. McBride was born in Lauderdale County Alabama on the 16th day of March 1819
Was married to Miss S. J. Thompson Nov. 1846 She being his second wife.
He joined the Baptist Church of Christ at Elm now Pleasant Valley in Brown County Texas and was baptized by Eld J. M. Perry on Friday after the first Sunday in August 1877 and died April 4th 1884
He was sick about ten days and was deprived of his right mind most of the time therefore said nothing about dying.
He was a faithful devoted Christian and considered one of the most prominent members of the Church to which he belonged
He left behind a companion a large family and many dear friends to mourn his absence
Whereas death having called from our midst our much esteemed and well beloved Brother Therefore it is Resolved by the Church that in memory of our departed Brother we give a page in our Church book a copy to the bereaved family and also have a copy sent to the Texas Baptist for publication
