Mrs. Leslie Harrison

Mrs. Leslie Harrison, 1010 Sylvan St., a longtime resident of Emporia, died Monday night in Newman Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W.A. Chambers, pastor of the St. James Baptist Church. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Ella Clay, the daughter of Henry and Charlotta Blackburn Clay, was born Aug. 31st, 1874, in Cumberland, Ky., and she was married to Leslie Harrison in 1894, in Emporia. She was a member of the Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died March 3rd, 1940, and she is survived by four sons, Otis of Americus; Lester of Dunlap; Joseph Samuel, 1010 Sylvan St., and Le Roy. 509 South Cottonwood; two daughters, Mrs. Wardie Mitchell, 401 Carter St., and Mrs. Eugene Allen, Rt. 3; one sister, Nora Ervin, Rt. 4; and by 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Rites for Mrs. Harrison

Funerals services for Mrs. Leslie Harrison, 1010 Sylvan St., who died Monday in Newman Memorial Hospital, were held Thursday afternoon in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W.A. Chambers, pastor of the St.James Baptist Church. Members of the choir who sang were Mesdames Hazel Smith, Lucy C. Wilson, Virgil E. Dorsey, John Walls, Barbara Gray, Leo A. Turner, Roscoe Williams and Frank Jackson and Mr. Alonzo Walls. They were accompanied by Mrs. Berryman Holt. The condolences were read by Mrs. John Walls and the pallbearers were Howard Miller, Cordie Collier, Guy Rogers, E.G. Harness, E. C. Phoenix and Forest Crawford. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Relatives who attended from out of town were Otis D. Harrison, Americus and Vanita Evans, Salina.
