Dayton, Or., Jan. 11--Edwin A. Alderman, who died here New Year's Eve, was born in this city, November 30, 1866. He lived with his parents until his marriage to Mary Bliss 11 years ago. Mr. Alderman was the first Mayor of Dayton. In politics he was a Republican. He was a farmer by occupation and owned the Moore Valley Farm, which comprises nearly 1000 acres.

Mr. Alderman's death was due to paralysis brought on by heavy lifting. He leaves a host of friends, father, mother, three sisters, and four brothers, besides a wife and 7 year old son.

The father of Mr. Alderman came to Oregon in 1846 and is still living at Dayton. He is 87 years old.
