Rachel was the daughter of Mary Jane Burns & Albert Lockwood Alderman. She was first married to Joseph Chambers and they had 3 children. She second married Willard B. McKown, Sept. 30, 1891.

Mr. & Mrs. E.M. Alderman and son, Urie, accompanied by the former's sister Mrs. Ora Powell of Portland attended the funeral, Sunday afternoon at Falls City, of the their sister Mrs. Meritta McKown. Mrs. McKown was, before her marriage, Miss Meritta Alderman of Dayton.
