The Emanuel County native retired in 1971 after many years as a barber. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sue Bishop Alcott of Savannah; four brothers, James Earl Alcott of Swainsboro, Virgil Alcott of Nunez, Talmadge Alcott of Savannah and Elmo Alcott of Millen; three sisters, Mrs. Syble Bennett of Nunez, Mrs. Ollie Ruth Brown of Millen and Mrs. Susie Stover of Herndon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 3 p.m today at Sipple's Mortuary, burial in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
