Kathryn Ann Jerabek, age 90, a Manitowoc resident entered eternal life on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 with her daughter by her side at the family residence.
Kathryn was born November 22, 1922 in the town of Maple Grove, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Bohman Gill. Being the youngest in the family, Kathryn was affectionately known as Babe by her immediate family. Kathryn was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1940. She continued her education at Holy Family School of Nursing for three years where she received her degree in nursing. In 1945 Kathryn entered the United States Army Nursing Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant serving overseas during World War II in the Philippine Islands for 18 months. In 1946 she was honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After her tour of duty with the military, Kathryn became employed with Holy Rosary Hospital, Detroit, Michigan for one year. She then returned to Manitowoc and became employed at Holy Family Hospital as a registered nurse in the obstetrical department for 40 years from where she retired. On December 1, 1951 she married Clarence "Duke" Jerabek at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2010. Kathryn was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She enjoyed tending her flowers with her husband, Clarence in their beautiful garden. Being a very faith filled person, Kathryn attended daily Mass and often had her rosary in hand. She was a loving, compassionate and supportive Mom and Grandma, having attended numerous sporting, music and academic events that her grandchildren participated in. Kathryn was also a fantastic cook and baker. We loved her feasts during the holidays. Family was her number one priority.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Wolff, Green Bay, WI; son: Mark Jerabek, Manitowoc, WI; three grandchildren: Eric, Ryan and Kathryn Wolff; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.
