SWEENEY, John and Ellen
"John Thomas Sweeney was born in Maysville, KY, on June 10, 1856. He moved to LeSueur County, MN, with his parents in 1860. On September 7, 1880, he married Ellen Clifford. Ellen Clifford was born in LeSueur County on February 15, 1862. The Sweeneys had 14 children. All of their children were born in LeSueur County. In 1909, John and Ellen moved to Wadena County, settling in the Nimmrod area."

"As this paper was ready to go to press we learned of the death of John Sweeney, a prominent farmer of Orton township, which occurred Wednesday night after having been in failing health for some time. The remains will be taken to the family's old home in Iowa for burial." (Note by: Patrick Mahowald- Burial was in Southern MN)
