The family left VA about 1816 on their
way to Kentucky via Pennsylvania. The
husband/father died in the area of
McClellandtown in Fayette County, PA.
At about the same time a Daniel Eby
(1773-June 1820), a widower with two
daughters, originally from Lancaster, PA
who had moved to Waterloo County, Ontario,
Canada in 1807, had journeyed to Fayette
County in Oct. 1817 to visit relatives.
While there he met Delilah Moxley and
they were married in Jan. 1818 in
McClellandtown.
Delilah (Apr. 1779-June 25, 1842) remained
in Waterloo County, Ontario and was buried
there near son William and daughter Sarah
Ann Benton. Daniel Eby died in PA on a
return trip there in 1820.
It is believed that Delilah acted as some
sort of medical assistant or mid-wife, in
Waterloo County (town of Berlin, now

Laura Kilborn (Mar. 19, 1812-Nov. 26, 1838),

ceremony performed by Rev. H. Montgomery,
