Dr. George W. Phillips, 85, of Morgantown, WV, a former resident of Spraggs, Greene Co., PA died August 1, 1961, in University Hospital, Morgantown, WV following a one car accident near his home on July 24, 1961.

Born September 30, 1876, in Spraggs, PA, he was a son of Jesse and Deborah Phillips and practiced in Blacksville, WV until 1926 when he established his practice in Morgantown, WV.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Neville Phillips; a daughter Nellie (John) Trotter of Morgantown; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

Dr. Phillips taught school in Spraggs before becoming a physician. He had been in semi-retirement in recent years.
