Mrs. Nancy A. Stewart, 89, widow of John W. Stewart, well known Wayne Township woman, died Friday morning, March 12, 1948, at 9 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman Strosnider, near Kughntown, with whom she had made her home for the past 20 years. Mrs. Stewart had been in ill health for some time, but her condition did not become serious until about a week ago.

A lifelong resident of Wayne Township, she was born February 19, 1859, near Spraggs, a daughter of Joel and Deborah Spragg Strawn. Early in life she united with the Phillips Methodist Church. She married John W, Stewart, who died November 9, 1926. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Bertha May) Strosnider, of Pine Bank, R. D. 1; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. R. A. Phillips, of Wheeling, W. Va., and a half-brother, Dr. George Phillips, of Morgantown, W. Va. One son, Willie E. Stewart, died August 8, 1914.
