This is the story that was told to me by my mother and grandmother. After my mother was born, Della Howard came by to visit in Breathitt County, Ky., and she ask that the baby girl be named Della after her, so my grandmother named her Della Mann after my grandmother's niece Della Howard.
My Granny was Alice Row and she was a half sister to Archibald Joseph Howard. Their mother was Rebecca Joseph who was the d/o John Joseph, Jr. and Mary Ann "Polly" Blanton.
