MARION — Mrs. Sallie Kate Altman Baxley, 88, widow of Lonnie W. Baxley, died Thursday, November 24, 2005, at Mullins Nursing Center after an illness.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 26, in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. The services will be directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baxley was born December 28, 1916, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Walter Monroe Altman and the late Ora Dell Edwards Altman. She was a homemaker and an active member of Marion Baptist Church up until her illness.

Mrs. Baxley is survived by several special nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Marion Baptist Church, 106 S. Main St., Marion, SC 29571 or to the Mullins Nursing Center, 518 S. Main St., Mullins, SC 29574.

Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 1 til 2 p.m. at Smith-Collins Funeral Home.
