Son of Walter Monroe and Ora Dell Edwards Altman. Walter married (1) Roberta Lane, and (2) Elizabeth Kate Deaver.

CENTENARY - Walter Franklin Altman, a retired insurance salesman, died Monday in a Marion hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today in Smith-Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Souls Chapel Cemetery in Gresham.

Mr. Altman was born July 1, 1923 in Marion County, a son of Walter Monroe Altman and Ora Dell Edwards Altman. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Deaver Baker-Altman; a son, Jay Altman of Columbia; a daughter, Ann A. Abbott of San Diego; two step daughters, Sharon Wilkerson of Florence and Betty Davidson of Columbia; three sisters, Verna M. Drew of Timmonsville, Alpha H. Altman of Charleston, and Katie Baxley of Marion; and four grandchildren.
